Gas servicing update
You may remember we announced the contract to service, repair, and renew our Gas and Oil Heating would be going out to tender. After a lengthy tender process, we are delighted to announce that Ultra-Warm were awarded this contract – and (as of 1 April 2009) they will be servicing, repairing, and renewing our gas and oil heating systems for the next five years. Ultra-Warm and Westlea will be working hard together to make sure we continue to deliver excellent service to you. For example, we will be working on a 10-month service programme to make sure we can complete your service before it becomes overdue. Ultra-Warm will contact you up to two months before your annual service is due and this could mean your appliance would be serviced twice in one year. Ultra-Warm will now send you a letter with a pre-booked appointment for the annual service, offering a morning or afternoon slot. If the date or time offered is not convenient, you can contact Ultra-Warm to rearrange the appointment; we try to make this service as user-friendly as possible. For our residents who may have difficulty in arranging access during the day, Ultra-Warm will now be able to offer evening or Saturday appointments for the annual servicing. And once your annual service has been completed, you will now receive a customer feedback form through the post. Your comments are valuable to us so please try to spare a few moments to tell us what you think of our service. Annual gas servicing is an extremely important area of our business. Westlea has a legal obligation as your landlord to ensure your gas appliances are serviced every twelve months. The annual service will also help to reduce your energy costs and will keep your appliance(s) running efficiently; more importantly, it will also reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning – helping to make you safer in your home. The Gas Safe Register replaced the previous CORGI gas registration scheme on 1 April 2009. This means anyone undertaking any work on a gas appliance must now be 'Gas Safe' Registered rather than 'CORGI' Registered. Our heating contractor, UltraWarm, will ensure all of their engineers are Gas Safe Registered, so that we will continue to have only fully registered and qualified engineers working in your property.
