You can have a national voice
![]() |
The new National Tenant Voice (NTV) will be set up by the Department for Communities & Local Government to give social housing tenants in England a voice and access to expertise at a national level.
The NTV will include a National Tenant Council of 50 tenants. The Council will act as a sounding board on housing policy issues, and will be formed to reflect as closely as possible the profile of social housing tenants on a national scale. Would you like to get involved? Recruitment for members of the council has now started. Tenants are able to get information online at www.hays.com/jobs/ntv and can get further information and/or support in completing an application on the freephone number 0800 917 7396. Recruitment ends on the 16 October.
The NTV will be a stand-alone organisation, with a majority of tenants on the board of directors. At this stage, the Government is seeking powers to fund the NTV in the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction (LDEDC) Bill currently before Parliament. Royal Assent is expected in October 2009.
