Survey results Potley Lane and Pockeridge Road are situated near to Corsham and consist of a mixture of houses, flats, and bungalows. There is a community centre on the estate, where many activities are run – such as toddler groups, baby clinics, drop-in clinics, and arts projects, as well as one-off projects such as pantomime and summer sports projects. Recently a mural has been painted as part of the local Jigsaw Project, which is managed by Barnardo’s and co-funded by Westlea. Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in partnership with Westlea has organised and set up a community allotment which 20 residents are currently involved in. There is a regular bus service to Corsham that serves the estate.
Analysis of the survey data shows the following:
Even though overall concerns about the crime levels, community safety, and drug dealing are less of a problem now than previously, several residents commented on the community centre encouraging under-age drinking and causing a noise nuisance, this is reflected in the increase in problems with large groups of youths and children.
