Stokes Croft

At the end of each section of the survey residents were asked whether there was anything else they would like to tell us. This is a summary of comments made:

  • 6 residents are concerned about the increase in traffic, the speed of the traffic, and that there are not enough parking spaces for residents.
  • We received 8 comments about the apparent increase in antisocial behaviour and loud music on the estate.
  • 3 respondents would like the play area to be improved.

Stokes Croft, CalneWe asked what activities/facilities residents would like to see provided for children and young people on the estate:

  • 2 residents would like the play areas extended and improved so that children of all ages can use it.
  • 1 resident would like to improve the activities/opportunities in the Community Centre such as an after-school club and a minibus provided to Coleman’s Farm because there are activities going on in that part of Calne.

Stokes CroftWe asked whether there was anything else residents would like to tell us about their children and young people:

  • 2 residents would like more police presence, especially at night, when the crowds gather.
  • 2 residents are concerned about to many children hanging round all hours of the night.
  • 1 resident said it is appalling and nobody cares about the children on the estate, roaming the streets.

We asked whether they have any comments about Crime and Community safety:

  • 2 residents would like to see an increase in regular policing in the area.
  • 2 residents would like more for teenagers to do, which would keep them occupied.
  • 1 resident suggested installing a CCTV camera by the Community Centre to see who dumps rubbish in streams.

Stokes CroftWe asked whether there are any other issues that families with children under-5 are concerned about:

  • 1 resident is concerned about lack of supervision from parents.
  • 1 resident is concerned about noise levels from children and would like to see a park area where they could kick their ball.

We asked residents about their health and well-being:

  • 2 residents' health has been affected by neighbours dealing drugs.

Westlea works with several partner organisations and asked some questions on behalf of those partners and other organisations. The following number of people requested further information.
