Hill Rise
At the end of each section of the survey residents were asked whether there
was anything else they would like to tell us. This is a summary of comments
made:
The residents were asked whether they had noticed any improvement with regards to their homes
and neighbourhood over the last 12 months:
- 7 residents commented that the play areas and park have improved.
- 5 respondents also commented that the pod is an improvement in the area.
- 2 residents said the grass
around the flats has been cut more often than last year.
- Noise is less now than it was 12 months ago and the area is
a lot tidier.
The residents were
asked whether there was anything else they would like to tell us about their
neighbourhood:
- 3 residents mentioned about mixing different age groups –
the elderly and younger people with children & babies don’t get along.
- 3 residents mentioned that other residents in the flats
were noisy and disruptive and dragging the area down.
- There were several complaints about dogs fouling and the owners not cleaning up after them, also dogs making a noise.
- 1 resident said about neighbours having bonfires during the day so people cannot open their windows in the summer time, another complained that their fence had been vandalised.
5 residents told us about the area is full of litter and gardens are over grown and there are uneven pavements.
- Even though the ‘pod’ is now open and being well used 3 residents said there was not enough for children of all ages to do, and 2 complained about footballs getting kicked about and property getting damaged.
- Over 20 residents have asked for a sports/football area.
- 4 residents would like to see better play areas for all ages, maybe a skate park and basket ball area for older children.
12 people mentioned the fact that traffic speeds through Hill Rise, and several would like traffic calming schemes.
- 6 people would like more parking spaces.
- A few residents also mentioned the need for more policing in the area, CCTV, and Neighbourhood Watch.
- A couple of residents said there was a need for more street lighting and litter bins.
Westlea works with several partner organisations and asked some questions on behalf of those partners and other organisations. The following number of people requested further information.
