We
are 18 tenants and residents elected yearly at our AGM by the tenants
and residents who attend. We have monthly meetings (eight meetings
at Westlea’s head office and four 'Community Get-Togethers')
where we welcome residents to talk to you and get your views of
the services Westlea provides. We also want your ideas and feedback
on what we do – after all we are your representatives to
Westlea!
Members of the District Forum come from a wide geographical area and are of all
ages and abilities, so anyone can play their part and no one is excluded from
becoming a member.
Over the last year we have developed better communication and a stronger relationship
with the Board of Management. There is a
bi-monthly written feedback between the groups and it is good to know that the
voice of tenants is heard. So if you think Westlea doesn’t listen, we have
evidence they do!
The District Forum plays an active role in helping develop and shape
polices and the services that tenants and residents receive. Westlea
looks to the District
Forum for input into resident training, ideas for conferences, advice on consultation
methods and the ways for tenants and residents to become involved, plus many
other activities – so as you can see we are a busy bunch!
We are looking for new members, so if you feel passionate
about making a difference, have some spare time, enthusiasm and want
to learn more, then please contact us. This can be done by phoning
the Neighbourhood Involvement Team on 01249 466163 or contacting
the Chair, Alison, on 01666 822202 or email alison.cross-jones@westlea.co.uk
