Westlea
Housing Association (part of GreenSquare Group Limited) is a charitable
housing association regulated by the Housing Corporation.
Westlea was set up in 1995 to take over and improve homes previously
owned by North Wiltshire District Council. We now work throughout
Wiltshire and Swindon and provide over 6,000 homes to people with
a range of housing needs, particularly those who cannot afford to
rent or buy property on the open market.
Westlea's work is overseen by a Management
Board that includes elected resident members. Resident and user
involvement is central to what we do and a new set of guidelines was
introduced in 2005 to ensure this happens in a meaningful way.
We employ more than 300 staff at our head office in Chippenham, including
a team who carry out most of the repairs to our homes. The day to
day operation of Westlea is managed by a Managing Director who is
responsible to the Management Board for the efficient running of all
aspects of our business.
We work hard to expand our provision of new homes and other services
to meet continuing demand in our area. We develop new homes for rent,
shared ownership and - through our commercial subsidiary - homes for
sale.
Going beyond the bricks and mortar, we understand how important it
is that neighbourhoods are good places in which to live. We work in
partnership with residents and other agencies to tackle local issues
such as opportunities for young people and crime and security matters.
Westlea
is an enthusiastic adopter of the ‘iN
business for neighbourhoods’ initiative and is an organisation
that has clear and strong values that shape what we do and how we
do it. We aim for service excellence, quality, professionalism, fairness
and accountability. We work in partnership with residents, staff,
our local authority partners, funders and our regulator to achieve
our aims and objectives.
